May I suggest......He was feathering out like a regular golden partridge,.........
Sounds good.
I do have a video of the First Mille Fleur D'uccle X OEGB cross I did for my sister. I don't have the pictures on this phone, but I do on my old phone. He died due to cold weather, so I didn't have a chance to see him grow up the rest of the way, but he clearly shows the mottling gene.
I wouldn’t say that he clearly shows the mottling gene. He could have mottling, but it’s not obvious or even easy to tell whether he does or not. Just because he has a lot of white doesn’t mean mottling. It also looks just like messy columbian, which would come from the d’uccle (but with the silver gene). The video was a little silly.
I can try to recover the photos, there were more then that.
A lady local to me breeds them! Let me find the picture she sent!I’m not sure if you’re aware of it, but there’s a variety of d’uccle that is silver and mottled (called silver mille fleur or just silver) https://www.google.com/search?q=silver+d'uccle&client=safari&hl=en-us&prmd=isnv&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwii7Im_0YDtAhWSrp4KHdy_CaIQ_AUoAXoECCEQAQ&biw=375&bih=553.
These are not my birds! This is from Cain Family Farms in Ohio! Shr has beautiful flock!I’m not sure if you’re aware of it, but there’s a variety of d’uccle that is silver and mottled (called silver mille fleur or just silver) https://www.google.com/search?q=silver+d'uccle&client=safari&hl=en-us&prmd=isnv&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwii7Im_0YDtAhWSrp4KHdy_CaIQ_AUoAXoECCEQAQ&biw=375&bih=553.
I'm still sure he was carrying the mottling gene, because usually mottled birds have the white belly. He didn't get passed 4 weeks old, because my grandpa forced me to put him outside because he started crowing. He died due to cold weather.I wouldn’t say that he clearly shows the mottling gene.
