I'm so glad you were able to get help from animal control and something has been done. It's appalling to me how badly humans consistently treat animals and it puts my faith back in humanity that there are people who care to change that as well as systems in place to prevent it.

That was the most disgusting brooder I've ever seen. I'm so anal I change my chicks water and feed at least twice a day and still pick pine shavings out of it every time I pass by. That would make me vomit. I hope the word gets out in your area about how his chicks are treated, I would never buy from him. Either he is going to pass on very sickly chicks or they will have the strongest immune systems around. I wouldn't be willing to take the gamble. Glad it looks better for now, but I suspect he'll just be more careful when taking pictures once the Animal protection squad is off his back.

Poor Chicks! I Hate How People Think That If You Just Leave Them With Food And Just Water That They Will Survive! No They Need Heat, Clean Shelter, Everyday Clean Food, Everyday Clean Water! People Think If You Just Leave Them Outside They'll Survive! My Parents Think If I Just Leave My Day Old Silkies Outside At 70 Degrees With Food And Water That They Will Survive Like NO!

Ouch. A lot of people don't know that turkeys should not be in the same enclosure as the chickens, they can carry & spread many aviary diseases.
