Distended belly, not egg bound - please help!

Thanks everyone. Is there anything I can do in the future to help avoid this?

Actually, no, not really. It's a genetic/hormone-based malfunction, no prevention and no cure other than an expensive hysterectomy she is unlikely to survive. I consulted a PhD in poultry science back when I began losing one after the other (all hatchery stock or daughters of hatchery stock) to EYP/salpingitis/internal laying. He said the best thing to do was get stock elsewhere, that they were genetically weak...and I did. My breeder stock rarely suffers from this stuff, though right now, I have a 3 year old Barred Rock with some Delaware in her lineage(Rowena, sister of my breeding rooster, Atlas) who suddenly bloated up. And I mean, very suddenly, too-she was laying just two weeks prior to that and I had remarked to my husband that her egg shells, usually very sandpapery-rough-semi-weak shells were showing better quality. Then, they stopped and she began laying around more so I checked her out and she was bloated.
Normally, I don't even give antibiotics for that anymore because, in my experience, by the time they show symptoms of something wrong reproductively, it's already far advanced. However, because Rowena had been recently laying with no molting, no signs of anything wrong, we did give her some strong penicillin doses to see if it helps, thinking that if it is an infection, we may have caught it early, but if it isn't, then naturally, it won't do any good. Could be a liver malfunction or something else. Time will tell.
But, the problem with hens and these issues is that by the time it's apparent to us that something is terribly wrong, the issue is already far advanced. If she has cheesy masses of cooked yolk and infection, antibiotics won't do anything for her. She is terminal.
Hens are the only animals on the planet that develop spontaneous ovarian cancers like human women, I read in a medical journal, so they study chicken hens to try to find a cure. That should tell you something about what you and your hens are up against.
Best thing is to build strong immune systems and have a healthy management approach, plus try to keep good quality stock in the first place. It's disheartening to watch this happen over and over again. I know that all too well.

Cluckies, You might just go ahead and get her on antibiotics. It will clear up the infection which could be the cause of the shell less eggs.

It was definitely not poo, it is white with other colors (red, orange), kinda looked like brains, and I pushed in it with a paper towel felt like rubber or gelatinous like.

I googled amoxicillin and tractor supply and fleet farm, neither has it. I did find some for fish at walmart, another thread said it is the same stuff, what do you think?

I use FishMox all the time. How much does she weigh? A bird of 5 or so pounds will need about 750 mg a day. I dump a capsule into 1 ml or so Gerber Baby Food and load into a syringe. Squeeze under the tongue. 250 mg 3 times a day.

If it says amoxicillin 250 mg or something similar, you can use it. Dose for a chicken is 57 to 68 mg per pound orally twice a day.

I will, my local walmarts (checked on 10) do not carry it :( had to order it via amazon, should be here friday. I'm going to call my local feed dude and see if he has any. and check pet co and pet smart, but they listed nothing online. I ordered it anyway as I had to order it within 15 minutes to get it by friday, so just in case they don't have any...

Your feed store should have injectable penicillin that you could use until Friday.
