Dixie Chicks

I vaguely  remember Herding a flock of Musovys down to the sand pits....  running water... LOTS of duckweed... for their daily dunk....  And them flying back to the barn...  I think I was about thirteen.

It was about half a block to the water.

So How do you do your treck to the creek?

honestly, I open the gates and they run to the creek on their own. It's close to the house. I just stand guard and make sure that no one's dogs or a hawk or owl grabs anyone. I let them out when I get off work everyday and leave them out til they meet me at the gate at dark.

And that story is hilarious @perchie.girl

Think Wagner and the Ride of the Valkyries.....

Alas, we are without grow-out pens for adolescent roosters. Unless Hilma wants them to move in with her. I think it would be pretty messy though.

Beautiful creek pictures.

I remember one time my father put a buck rabbit in the chicken run so he could repair its coop. Good thing there wasn't a roo. That rabbit bear huged every hen he could get his paws on.
