Dixie Chicks

you need to start peppers and tomatoes now though.....

OK... I left the lid off of my incubator for 4 hours...  (the heater is in the lid)

Do you think I killed them?  killed some?   ??????  50+ eggs in there......
I doubt it. May be a few hours late, but highly doubt any damage done.

The eggs that got chilled...

the leghorns are on day 8

the quail are on day 6

and some Ameraucana and Marans on day 6

@perchie.girl the bunny video was supper cute... I haven't seen something like that before, kinda cool

some people incubate for a few days before shipping eggs out... seems it makes the eggs more "roebust".... I was on the broody hen hatch along list for a good year devouring info...

Plus the hens in the wild go off nest to forage.... I bet it just slows down the hatch time...

I keep wanting to start some seeds, then the wife reminds me we don't plant outside till the end of May :'(

I need a greenhouse, bigger chicken coop is first on the list though.

You know what I found, (at least with my tomatoes, and a few other things) that direct seeding in the greenhouse results in plants that catch up or surpass my early starts or store bought starts...
Some of the peppers did fine like that, but lots were far to slow and never produced.
I started seeds earlier than ever (February) I will direct seed as well and see if they still catch up. Worked well for the short season winter squash as well, but the 100+ day ones not so much.

Coop greenhouse complex, 2 birds one stone!
