@BriardChickens , Hope your ok! Hair on fire smells yuck! Do you need a "new hair-do" now, or did you catch it in time? My daughter's hair caught on fire at her 3rd bday party. Luckily we caught it quickly. AHHH! Birthday cake candles....
@Alaskan , last year I bought hatching eggs, OE and BCFM. I candled them the best I could, the eggs were so dark was super hard to tell. In the end I had 6 eggs and 1 hatched. I have 2 BCFM hens, and at one time was excited about the breed. I have since gave up on that breed and moved on. LOL!
Just checked on the injured barred rock hen and CCL roo. They are hanging in there. They both have diarrhea. Probably stress. And the barred rock still has a full crop. Not good. I have never successfully treated sour crop. They end up dying of aspiration. I am going to put a small amount of ACV in the water and investigate their injuries closer today. Poor babies
. DH's dog is still missing. I think I failed to mention that. Also, as some of you know, this is not my first go around with Pepper (the dog) attacking the chickens. UGH! It most worries me that now she is at large and who knows what will happen. One time she was gone nearly a week and when she came back, she had whip worm. She adds much stress to my life.....
