And yes, a blue chick's should be blue down. Some blue have extremely dark down though.

yay on hatches, boo on toes. Is this is temperature/humidity issue or more of an inbreeding/genetic issue?
I keep hearing that 50% on hatch rate on shipped eggs is good.
