Mini, that's why I do not have ducks anymore. I'm not paying to feed wildlife I can't eat. I'm thinking geese might be a better bet for me if I was to get waterfowl again.

see, the larger ducks I do eat. It's not worth it on a call though of course.

Hmmm... do baby quail have another name??

Hmm, still only one hatch this morning..

Little worried about my hovabator. The thermoter I have inside reads 38C, but the digital one I put in last night says only 37.0C.. that's too cold. I need a third thermometer!

I meant also I'm not going to feed fox, racoons, mink, I don't eat those. I didn't eat a lot of my ducks, yeah they're yummy, I more just liked having them around. I'm only interested in free ranging them in my pond. I was thinking cotton patch geese would be ideal for me, to big for fox, and very predator warry and like wild geese they can fly from a standstill. They are $$$ though.

Do you geese make good protectors against foxes? Or what would besides a LGD..

2 nights ago DH said to me "I have a lot of egg customers at work, we need more chickens" so I contacted the Partridge Chantecler that I got my last ones from to ask when she's doing her next "cull". I told DH and his response was "really? I really gotta watch out how I say things! I meant the next bigger property we get, we need more chickens"
Get a brinsea spot check thermometer. I trust them 100%
Ahh, thanks!

I have one that's 4 degrees off...

Heard there have been a bunch of those off, think their QC missed some... I used to love the digitals, then compared 6 different ones and none of them read the same... :/

Was told these would fry my eggs, but I got 2 of these analogs and they read exactly the same and have been totally reliable...

400

I keep 1 in the bator and 1 in hatcher, along with digital for comparison, but haven't had temp or humidity be off since I started using them... just my experience... :)
