Dixie Chicks

does anyone have any automated systems with their chickens? feeder? waterer? lighting? doors? cam? and if so how do you like it ect? and if you dont want would you like to be automated in your chicken keeping?
I'm working up a automatic watering system. Takes forever to water everyone here. Going to use one of those 275 gallon food grade tanks (the ones in the metal cage) as the resevoir. Plan on using the watering nipples for the chickens and the duck run will have one of those metal automatic horse waterers. That way it's deep enough for them to wash their face in.

Thanks, @Alaskan...

Unfortunately, they aren't even trying to take responsibility for what their dogs did... tried placing blame on another... refused to come over to even talk, apologize or anything... communication has now stopped...

So sorry, that sucks! I've heard many people that this has happened to, some of them said they would pay and didn't. Maybe they think the govt. should pay for it? People just don't take responsibility anymore.
When I was a kid a guy that lived across the valley from us who was not liked by anybody, old guy real jerk. Could hear him scream at his wife all day from our house, nobody in our area liked him and never saw anybody visit. His huge doberman got loose one day, killed a bunch of dad's chickens and tore open a breeding pen of his rabbit's and killed a bunch of them. I remember dad calling him, way back when we still had party line phones anyone remember them? Had to wait for your neighbor to stop yapping before you could make a call, hear everything they were saying. The 'jerk/hated man' showed up to pick up his dog, apologized and offered to pay for damages, and DID! Dad told him what he usually got for them at the auction, the guy handed it over and apologized again. I was probably waist high to them at the time . We never did have that dog come up to our house again. That man might have been a bunghole to everyone he came in contact with, but at least he was man enough to take responsibility for his pets actions without question.... Not the dogs fault but the owners....

I'm glad a few more reappeared but that doesn't make the lost ones any easier. It's your property, not theirs. They need to keep their dogs off. Here in my county I can shoot on site if a dog is bothering livestock on my property.

We can as well, but they were already on their porch when I got down the hill with the gun...

Thanks, @Beer can... they are opposite, super fake nice but no responsibilty...

we need much more pictures of the homestead :) you got a farm over there hehehe :)

thats so frustrating @Beer can
I hope they arrive for you
I'll have to get some uploaded. Not so much a farm. Just a hobby. We make hay, have the horses (which just cost me money), have all the tractors, balers, rakes, wagons, blah, blah, blah.
