Dixie Chicks

The box thing is a water tank float valve. Its about six inches long and three inches high and clamps on any container you want to use as a waterer. There is a hole in the top to screw a hose in.... Or in my case i made the conenction with PVC so I could do a shut off valve.

say you start with Oo as your base color gene and one outcross has Oe and the other had Eo could the offspring get Oo and be stable then?

Ummmm... yes, I believe... that is what was done with many breeds that were based in multiple breeds... but it takes lots of time and many generations to stabilize and breed true...

Good morning all! My goal this week is to get pics! It is so nasty out at the coop due to all the rain. We used a whole bale of straw just to cover the ground so we weren't sliding around in mucky mud.

. Haven't seen you in awhile. Hope all is going well for you.

@ApiaryandAviary , I too have a sick chicken. One day all the chickens were playing in the rain.....WHY!

They all could have went back to the coop, but most decided to just get soaked. She is an Easter Egger. I put her in a dog crate & I am giving her Duramycin-10 in her water. Today is day 3 of being sick. She is coughing, sneezing & had goop coming out of her beak.

@minihorse927 I see you are up at the crack of dawn with me. I feed all the chicks and pullets before I go to work. The grown chickens & rabbits don't get fed until I get home.

You all have a good day!

I do the same@Outpost JWB! I feed all the young ones and I check to make sure that these grow outs will be OK until I get home. Then I do it all again when I get home.

Well, off to work.

Oh, I do have 2 pens with 5 gallon and 3.5 gallon bucket style nipple waterers. Those are nice. Only fill them every few days.
