Dixie Chicks

Nope, cold isn't better... it's worse... turns our hill into a steep downhill skating rink, lol...

Am ok, thanks for asking... birds were ok as of dark time... was still pouring til past midnight, so we'll see if the less than intelligent ones made it through the night in the morn... there's a few that insist on sleeping in a flood area... :/
I've got a few of them! I had to pluck one of them out of the mud last night. Bathed it and put it in the house for the night to keep it alive it's fine this morning though

Mine made it through the night... but 2 grow outs look rough... if they don't make it, well, maybe that's for the best... not too bright, if ya know what I mean, lol...

Poor stupid chickies (Or duckies???)

On the alaskan facebook chicken page...someone actually posted about what he should do.... he went to check on his chickens, and "they were not moving, so he brought them into his garage and put a heat lamp on them, after several hours they still hadn't moved, their legs were stiff, and they smelled bad"

He wanted to know what was wrong...why they weren't moving.

I was pleased to see the very kind answers.

This is an adult.

Blew my mind.... I wasn't able to post anything...... nothing nice and helpful popped into my head.

Someone kindly told him how to check to see if they were truly dead.... said he should look at their eyes...see if they blink when he touches their eyeball.

He posted back...said he had done that (after reading the post...not before)......no response from the chicken, what should he do for them?

Someone said, " so sorry for your loss, they are clearly dead"

Anyway.....not sure if he then asked for a step by step on what to do with a dead chicken......

I gotta say, I am curious as to if he is mentally slow....or if he is some super sheltered city dude. :hu

Yep, curious.
