I want leghorns...  I don't think I care any more about color... I DO care about the comb.

Hmmm... he was doing some major rosecomb projects for avoiding frostbite... had rosecomb CCL, but think he had a setback from a fox raid in his coops... trying to remember if he had rosecomb brown leghorns... I know he had something besides CCL's with rosecombs...

man.... I did NOT want to spend any money on chicks this year... I only wanted to MAKE money on chicks this year.... now I can't decide if I should place an order....

for some reason, buying eggs doesn't feel as crazy as buying chicks.....

I really need more coops

I do NOT want to place a hatchery order....

because then I would be spending money on breeds that I will not be able to sell for good prices....

the only breed that is selling well are the Marans....

The Dominiques and Leghorns, even though **I** am much more interested in them... not many other people are.....

so, I should not spend money on improving my stock......

that would be a money loss....

That's what I told the wife anyway when she complained writing out the check for SandHill hatchery. She said NO MORE CHICKENS. Then I reminded her I still had to pick up those cemani crosses. I told her 'but I only have to buy them once'.

I keep seeing cemani and svarthona eggs for decent prices. Do you think If I snuck some into a incubator she would think they are from our chickens?

I think I found someone who will ship me eggs that are homozygous for rose combs AND are dark brown leghorns!!!!!!
