Lunch and dinner...

I got a good deal on Turkey thighs at Food 4 Less. like 2 bucks a pound. I bought two packages that had two thighs a piece. Both went into the freezer.

I pulled two out last night about nine oclock and threw them frozen into the crockpot...salt pepper garlic and poulrty seasoning. I turned the pot on low and forgot it. It had gone off By the time I got up but was still hot.... I turned it on again for six hours.

By the time lunch came around the bones pulled out of the meat clean.... I pulled the meat out of the pot and sthreeded it. Then I made Grandma a sandwich out of shredded meat. So next I throw in some veggies in the juice in the pot to cook with some added turkey stock. Once they are done I will thicken it a bit and put the meat back in....

Turkey stew is for dinner.

WE cant afford beef any more.

thats awesome I love double meals like that...the cost of meat is getting stupid expensive...sheesh just hamburger is hard to find under 2.99 anymore I mean it's hamburger ppl?.. I often get larger hunks of meat and have the butcher cutt them down further it's usually free service at the store and you save money that way but you have to beable to store bulk stuff

Meat is becoming more of a luxury item, the cost (both economically and ecologically) of producing a pound of beef is astronomical compared to most other meats, not to mention vegetables. Might be a good idea to start getting comfortable with the idea of eating insects.

All the pictures of sultans looked really puffy and they had fuzzy feet...

I used to have a Golden Polish Crested hen. LOVED HER! She was the talk of the flock. Little bitty thing that talked a lot. The only downside of her is she only laid 2-3 eggs a week. They were white. She got taken by the raccoons this past spring. I miss her so much that we are getting more this spring. She is not white though. Have you looked at the other houdans? AHAHAH!
