When i was in the hospital for my Csection I wasnt there long enough to get a meal at least I dont remember one. I was on Medi-Cal at the time and the longest stay they would allow was 24 hours. I dont think i ate for a couple of days... Home with Tape across my gut a new born single first time parent.... Heck i had never even held a baby before my son.

Mom came over for the first couple of days but she pitched a fit and left me saying I was starving that baby.... She was mad because I wasnt bottle feeding.... Grandma came over for a day or two after that...

I would have loved to have been allowed to stay at least two days with some nurses to walk me through those first few days...

I am the only one in my family who chose that route. Hard to believe so many people pass up on the health benefits this offers. Let alone the cost factor! Free & natural v/s costly & chemical. My kids "knock on wood" are super healthy

. I don't know if mentoring would have made a difference in my case. My son's birth went well & I was out of the hospital the next day. On my own with a husband who had no clue as to the whole nursing concept (and was not supportive of the idea) and I had no one to call for advice. Luckily I stuck with it for 4 months or so. Going back to work after 6 weeks was not easy. I worked as a receptionist at a bank and had to change my dress at least once a day.

Anyways, I am stubborn and when people tell me I can't do something, it only encourages me to prove them wrong

I'll have to play catch up later, but it was interesting this morning to find out that @Alaskan still lives at home with mom. Didn't know that about you

Beer, At least to Canada it's illegal to mail beer as a private person. I'm thinking there might be some online sellers that have something similar as vineyards do though, you could email the brewery ([email protected]) and ask how you could get a hold of their products in the States. Anyway, just sending it via post would cost an arm and a leg as a private person. Companies tend to have good shipping deals. Just the shipping for a sixpack would be like 30 euros or something if I would send it. Actually, more since it would have to be sent as a fragile package.

And to answer the other part of your question, no I'm not familiar with that beer.

Töyhtis, one of the broodies, laid her first egg in months today. Nice olive colored 50g egg. We also took down the separator, and as I suspected, Emma is being a poop head towards the chicks and broodies. The others are good with them. Even though Emma is a great layer and lays the best tasting eggs in our flock, she might be headed for freezer camp tomorrow. I really dislike that bird, never getting Sussexes again. If we get rid of Emma and if at least three of the chicks are boys (as it seems at the moment, I keep telling myself that their combs aren't getting red, just a bit orange), we should have capacity for another clutch of eggs if Wilma decides to go broody sometime in spring.
