Dixie Chicks

dang.....  looked at the photos like 5 times....  I like #4 the most.... looks like no base of tail fluff....  and just best body shape etc.

#3 is a clear cull, eat him

I think #1 is my second choice... looks like he has a good breast etc.

Can you keep those two?

Or, keep your two favorites, #4 and 5?

Heh, that is awesome... #1 & #4 are the two I've been leaning heaviest towards... I do not like #3, and don't see the how the Rees line is 'better'...
Thank you very much for your assessment... I've been staring at them so much this last week that I see them in my dreams, lol... :D

I totally understand...

I had that problem too when I was looking at all of my roosters this last fall... trying to decide who to cull... they do start to swirl about in your vision... makes it impossible to keep straight who is who, and who had which whatever that it was that you were looking for.... and then your brain melts right out your ear.

still not completely sure I picked correctly....

but extra roosters BARF!!!!!

Earlier I had decided that Eemeli would go and would be replaced by one of the Marans mix roos, but he's since grown on me. So I think we will just be culling all of those Maran boys.

Sam, nice job with your painting. I like the ladder too.

Al, can't you see there are at least three different shades of white there? The door, the wall, the grate... How much more color does one need?

Our currant bushes are starting to show the first signs of spring, there's just the tiniest hint of green leaves showing on them. Plum tree hasn't come that far yet.

Ah ok, I thought maybe he was against all birds since he told you he wasn't happy about the pickup of new birds.

Good morning minihorse927. That was my hubby........ He doesn't dislike the birds. He just dislikes the fact that we have 3 acres and 109 chickens, 9 rabbits, and 2 dogs. But to me, what's one more chicken?

say nooo, that's a rare, endangered breed of duck that we need to help along.

My screened in back deck is now home to an over mated cuckoo Marans hen. Apparently she is irrestable to the males. Its pooping everywhere

This past weekend I FINALLY got our breeder male rabbit off the back porch. He's in a cage, but still there was rabbit poop balls everywhere

. He was SO EXCITED to eat the grass and lay in it.
@perchie.girl , I also have a greenhouse isolation area. Except it has turned into a breeder pen. I have a CCL rooster, 2 CCL hens, and 2 barred rocks in there. They free range all day and go back to the greenhouse at night. I'd like to use the greenhouse as a greenhouse next year, but for now, all is good. I just open the windows & doors before I go to work.

@Beer can , do you know what predators are getting your chickens? We have hawks bad here. I have been VERY LUCKY! Last year we were fighting raccoons. That was a nightmare.

Well, I got to get ready for work. I am still loving my new job. Part time, but I work pretty much every day-except never on Sunday. I just don't have to work long hours, or super early inhumane hours.

I should add that due to the rabbit circumstances on the porch, we named him PIG.

@hennible , paint job looks good. I've got a lot of painting to do. Come on down. I'll get you a beer, or lemonade, or whatever!

JWB, 3 acres sounds like a heck of a lot bigger than what we've built our petting zoo of a backyard on.

The three chilis I moved into larger pots seem to be doing well, so I think I shall re-pot the rest of them today. The tomatoes on the other hand are clearly in need of new light, so I have to get them under the fluorescent light and move the chilis out by the window. I'm going to try just a single wick for the tomatoes this time instead of the two.

My supercropping pinching experiment wasn't very successful, I think I killed the six seedlings I tried it on.

didn't have a clue you had 9 rabbits! thought you just had mama babies and the buck. or do you have more babies than I remember? All the bucks I had were pigs. Some worse than others.
You gotto know most people who paint put on a coat of Gesso before they do the actual painting  Only a layer of a neutral color that will blend in with the back ground.  Sort of like primer.

I personally like using black Gesso....

deb
dark walls. Yes. I need this in my bedroom!
