Well punky is not a big fan of my birds, but he tolerates them because I love them... But we just got some test results back that explain why our little one was sick... Campylobacter Bactria likely picked up from, you guessed it, the chickens. Punky is not pumped...
Remember to wash your hands my friends!

at least you know why he was sick. I'm just glad he's better.

btw, I got Giardia from raising four calves years ago. I had no idea what I was doing. Surprised we didn't all get sick. LOL

Outpost, not sure what was last summer when they were free ranging and sleeping in trees. I figured a racoon snagging them at night, but if it was I think I would have a problem with coons trying to get in the coop. Could've been fox or coyote when they come down first thing in the morning. No more unlimited unsupervised freeranging.
Bama, I used to use a lot of Styrofoam cups. Easy to break them apart and the roots don't grow into them, and their cheap.
I actually would sqeeze and break the root ball a little if there was a lot of roots, heard they grow better cause the roots are dumb and think they are still in a pot if you don't, I don't know just always done it.

that's rough hennible. I'm glad you guys figured out what was going o though. Things happen. Even the most clean people can get caught with a bug around poultry! It happens. Fiance mom's dog got Giardia from drinking out of the ducks dirty water. She is not good at cleaning and just adds water to their dish everyday without scrubbing the yucky duck gunk out. She learned to do a better job since the dog got sick.
