if I can figure out how to move a giant shed up hill to the current coop location. The shed is large enough that it should be able to house all the chickens, ducks and all of this years additions!!

Sweet!!! Will it come apart at all??

Thank you for suggestions.
I will relay the golf ball idea, empty egg and fill
With mustard, increase proteins and have calcium near by. Inthinknsomeone hitnthe nail on the head with the nest box not being dark enough. They really are not happy if they lay that egg with out all the privacy they really want. Oh they will lay an egg but they so prefer privacy. I think a combination of all four is really good. Thank you. I had to remove post due to a woman adding drama by fabricating conversation. I usually ignore her.
I am so glad that NEVER happens on this thread. Thank you for being level headed and helpful.

lol, gotta love the drama queens... I always ignore the threads when that happens... I had a young pullet that started egg eating, put golf balls in the nest and fed out chopped boiled eggs shell included and she stopped... just my 2 cents... :)

build some skids for the shed.... um er have someone build some skids for the shed. You can use two car jacks dig a hole under put the car jack under one corner... On top of a piece of wood. Do the same for the other corner on the other side. Jack the shed up at least a foot.

Now screw on some good sized lumber enough to keep the shed up off the ground a couple of inches once you let the jacks down. Do the same for the other side of the shed. The wood should stick out a foot or two off either side.... and cut a taper in the wood so when you drag the shed it will cause the skids to ride up and over any irregularities.

Now you can either hire a Flat bed Tow truck driver to move the shed for you... Or you can move it yourself with a couple of come alongs... I would NOT try to move it more than fifty feet over rough terrain this way... but it would ride up a good slope. I recommend a tow truck.

For what its worht I have gone in to a tow truck place and chatted them up about moving a carriage. I couldnt fit it in my own truck nor was I strong enough to even roll it up a ramp. One guy offered to do it for me.... charged me fifty bucks.

Here in california there is something called Grab and Go service they specialize in moving sheds all the way up to 40 foot shipping containers. price based on how big and how far to move it.

good luck

I'll have a talk with hubby.. see where the new house is going exactly. If it's all too close the shed will have to move.

Maybe the boss/neighbour can pull it for me when he's doing our excavation for the foundation

I mean the excavator will already be there.. patience.

Perchie, you just gave me another idea, call Rona (a building center), they sell and deliver sheds. Maybe they can move one.

no patience, but all a distraction from waiting 3 more days for my duck hatch!

There are three and they dominate the site. Ad libing, exagerating, manipulating, twisting to outright Fabricating. Bad thing is, one says it and the other two take her word for it and jump in swinging.
Bad thing is, at every Flock Swap, and so far this year I have been to 11 Saturdays in a row, it never fails. I say, you can find me on BYC private message me there, my call sign is ApiaryAnd Aviary. And THEY always and immediately come back with one of several things. They say; I watch it, I read it. I fear it. I will not join, I joined but will not use it. Asked why? They know their names and mention the three names. Pretty bad.
I think of them as I did my old hens in my yard. They were here first. They are not the special breeds nor the expensive breeds. They are no longer a force to be reconed with.
As a group they beat up on all the new babies and chase the newbies off. Tired of it. And tired having to keep nice expensive breeds separated from them...So a friend voiced she wanted to start a flock. I told her she could have the three witches of Eastwick. She put them in with her ducks. Oh my! Those ducks have gone after them. They are no longer the three bullies, They have been chased by the Ducks.
