Rehomed all but my young roosters
(Lost some to a fox also... Then a few more, only 3 roos left)
The heath authority busted the store that sold my eggs (no repercussions for any one, just no more egg there) so between that, and the need of a new coop, DHs hatred of chicken crap on his work bench, I rehomed them... Fast on facebook, crazy place... Any way kept the ducks, we all love them, and when I get back into chickens (hopefully next year) I won't be free ranging... Still haven't got a quote from contractor... Blah
That's this year CC... About 3 weeks ahead of the norm... Mostly the weather, partly lay out and planning. If all goes well it will be a wall of green in the frame by the seasons end.
(Harvesting will be fun... Ha)
26 out of 32 potato plants are up, guess it doesn't hurt to cut them in small one inch slices. Had a visitor checking them out this morning, and I thought the darn things were only in the down by my pond garden.
So... I set a bunch of different quail eggs ~3 (almost 4) weeks ago. The coturnix hatched last week. At the same time I could tell that the bobwhites weren't quite finished yet so decided to leave them for a few more days.
Last night I candled and they should hatch any day now, I can hear and feel them in the eggs. This is over 3 weeks later! All the eggs went into my hovabotor at the same time. Any idea why the bobwhites would have such a delay? They finally seem on track since moving them into the brinsea.
My duck eggs are in the same hovabator incubator now, some are developing but most aren't.
