Dixie Chicks

My hen lays about 2 eggs per week now. It is too hot here to ship eggs

Doing better'n me... I only get a Silkie egg if it's raining, and it's in the middle of the pen... You as hot down there as we are?

double boxing insulates them very well...

Yep... but most of my bantams aren't even laying well anyways... heat is disrupting production, lol...

yeah, my ohiki said screw this. Since the 2 got chicka, the other 2 quit laying.

Man. I Haven't checked this thread in too long lol! Anyone have any cochins or silkies they'd sell eggs from? Im getting a list of people that do so when I want to get some I can just look there. Also I may get another breed and need suggestions. I like chanchtlers however you spell that any ways they would be perfect for winters but will they survive 80 degree Fahrenheit weather with like 10 percent humidity? I live in conditions very close to perchie.girl if that's any help! Thank for any input.

My chanteclers do well in the cold, bred for the cold I imagine they don't do well in humidity (we rarely have much for humidity, I live in Alberta where the partridge chantecler originates). With lots of water, they can deal with heat as much as any other chicken. Our temperatures in the summer do go up to 30c but cools off most nights.
I have yet to hatch a rooster (this years goal) but the breeder where I got my girla from says they actually make a nice awesome tasting meal.

Now I have pullets just starting all my reliable layers are off... so all eggs are hit or miss, lol...

Oh, did you see the vid I posted? Dunno if it'll help, blue pied only makes noise with the others... spent 2 hrs annoying and chasing them around the yard, lol... Lady Grey is at the end though, can hear her 'talk' a bit...

I thought I answered back again. Looked, not there. Maybe I dreamed it happened? I dont hear anything girly out of her but that sure looks like a hen!

Hmmmm, I think you do have a defective duck. Really need to get her by herself and get video. I love lady greys waddle.

Well at least it's not just me!! Friggin' duck has me sooo confused! But I usually get the strange ones... had a Serama roo that squatted like a pullet too...

Have several vids, will try to upload more... took forever to get 1 up, lol... getting her alone causes the silent treatment... :/

Lady Grey only screams when I'm not around... will try to get that recorded too... she's so tiny compared to the others!
