Diy chicken and duck grit?

Hi everybody,
I need to know what can I use instead of normal granite chicken grit in an emergency so that I don't have to go the store.

I don't know what size grit ducks take, but chicken grit:

If you have smaller/mixed sized gravel around your property, just give them some access to that and they'll pick out what they need.

As in they never had access to grit or just ran out for a few days? If the latter, should be fine as the grit they did have is likely still in the gizzard.
