I'm not sure if this has been asked before but I searched the forums and couldn't find anything.

I was just thinking that because they have long tails that drag on the ground, would they need any special care? Like bedding, feed, etc...? Wouldn't dirt and feces build up in it? Would I have to wash them daily? Would other flock members step on the tail?

(We'd just be keeping them as pets, not show birds btw).

Any information on their care would be helpful thank you.:)

The bedding must be clean and dry at all times; they should also have a tall perch such as a stood-up log. And yes, other flock members would hurt their tails if thye don't have enough space.

Also, don't let them play in the mud, and if they are dust bathing in the evening make sure they get to stay out of the coop until they have shaken off.
Good luck!
