Do I help my eggs? Day 22.

Not sure about the crackling in her lungs. I hope it clears up quick! As for the piece of egg and stuff attached, I would just let her be at this point. It will dry up and fall off eventually. Hopefully sooner rather than later. I'm not sure how to do the dental floss thing. I've always just let things dry up and fall off. I've had a chick that had a string thing dried up on it for about 4 days before it fell off. lol
I agree, let it be. Her lungs are probably fine--do let us know how she does!

Ok, thanks guys. So I will just leave her in her little cup for a while?
How long before the veins dry up?
She was bleeding a little, will the blood stop on its own?

Thanks again for the quick replies.

Veins are already dry. Just let her run around on her own like a normal chick. She will be fine
agree! CONGRATS and I pray she hasnt any leg issues from that funky time! If she does the links to corrective actions are in the bottom of the hatching 101 article. I would be sure to add vits to her water as well, grow gel is awesome if you have some.

I didn't know that being in the cup would harm her breathing. I just took her out of the cup and put her on the wire floor with her paper towel.
We will see how she does.

I can't thank you guys enough for all this great advice.

It's not that it will harm her breathing, it's just that she's made the transformation from being a fetus, with lungs full of fluid, to that of a hatchling, breathing air. She may still have some fluid left to get rid of. Just like being immobile in bed is not good for a person with pneumonia, the same goes for a chick. Being up and about will help the lungs to clear quicker.

That makes a lot of sense. Thanks.

She is up and trying to walk around. She has one white wing, really neat coloring.
