Do I help my eggs? Day 22.

She is only sitting up, hasn't started walking yet.
But she is very alert. I'm going to offer her some food and vitamin water again and see what she thinks.

Has it been past 24 hours??? If so then I would worry a bit about the legs. If not give her some more time however I would not be handling it to much if it's under the 24 hours. We always left ours in the incubator over night even if there was other eggs in there. Then the following morning make sure they drank and ate, and were under the brooder until the following morning. Normally by that time it would be drinking, eating, sleeping and trying to sleep on brothers and sisters. And tons of little peeps going on.

Should I worry about feeding her? I offered her some chick food mushed up and some water with polyvistol and she isn't very interested.
I know chicks absorb their yolk, but will she still be hungry?
I will offer food and water more often if you guys think she may be hungry. I was thinking of making her a hard boiled egg.

I assisted her yesterday at about 2:30 PM I think. And now it's almost 7:00 PM here. So she is about 29 hours old.

I'll keep you all posted.

Then if its been that long I would worry. The one that we had that was born with the messed up feet stayed alive for about 4 days. Then died. If its in the brooder I would leave chick starter on the floor so it can get it. Also make sure to leave the waterer where it is easy access. For our young ones I never left food in a feeder I would place it on the floor so they would peck for it. At 3 days old we would start putting food in the feeder and let them eat it from there.

I actually think that it's OK if she doesn't eat yet. 29 hours isn't that old. I will leave a lot of my baby chicks in the incubator until they reach 1.5 days old- and they never have food or water until they are placed in the brooder. She should definitely be eating by tomorrow though.

I offered her some hard boiled egg. She ate about 2 bites, pecked them herself.

Her neck seems really long. I don't know why? Maybe it's the way she stands, just looks different to me.
She's always preening herself. Obsessively. Not sure what is causing it. Maybe she is uncomfortable.

We will see how it goes.
