Do mice eat button quail?

Not great pictures but it was a try though

This is the one thats doing the crowing sounds most of the time, calling him that because he seems to always torment and chase the other quails, even when there slightly bigger than him. Problably a male.

We actually have 11 of them but taking a picture of each one is genuinely difficult.

No comment, its just big
Those look like coturnix quail, not buttons. Buttons look more like this.

Recently one of my quail has a SUPER bloody head, almost like something was eating it. We also found out that the pen is now infested with house mice (the small brown ones). I would like to know if mice are known to eat button quails. The quails are less that 2 months old.
While others make a good point that it could be flock dynamic related.. I'm gonna say YES, 100%.. mice and rats are a problem for anything they can get their teeth on.. don't discount them!

Most often damage is seen as chewed off feet and legs through the wire.. but with your set up, who knows?

Good luck resolving your quail issue and getting rid of those pesky freeloading invaders. :fl

All of these are domestic Japanese quail, Coturnix japonica. You have several colors that can’t be sexed by just looking at the feathers, but it seems like “Aggressive” is a male and “Patchy” is also male based on the brown face. Several of the Italian or Pearl Fee are definitely females.
