Do not Relocate predators!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Personally, it doesnt make a bit of a difference to me if its legal or illegal in my area to do so. Id rather go to jail for relocating an animal & not killing it, than abiding by the law & "disposing" of an animal. That is just how i feel. Like i said, im not going to sit here & go back & forth with people on what state holds what laws, & this animal is suffering while this one isnt - i refuse to do it. I know that no matter what i say to ANYONE on this thread, no one will change their outlook. I just wish that things were spoken of with a little more respect. amazondoc & I are not the only ones that have felt disrespected on these types of subjects.

Wow, people sure have some opinions on this subject. I know relocating predators is illegal, but there are some people that I just feel have a crying need for a raccoon.

This statement is not true. Another legal method to avoid predation is to prevent access of the predators to your birds. Exclusion is perfectly legal, and non-lethal.

I think the point Boyd is making is:

It is one thing as to how you feel about a certain matter, and quite another to advocate it on a public thread to someone who doesn't know the ramifications, legal and ethical.

No one is advocating illegal activities. I just said - that if i were in that position, i would choose jail over killing an animal.
Never once did i say "Hey everyone, lets go break some laws & drop racoons off at everyones houses so we can go to jail !!"

Thats what i was trying to say before. If all measures were taken, there would be no need to kill a predator.

That's like preaching abstinence to teens and expecting no teen pregnancies.

Right. Like SSS of birds of prey, for instance -- yet we often see folks here advocate that as well.

Actually read the sticky in the forum rules.. Nifty has a direct link on how to go about getting rid of birds of prey legally. Please read the forum rules again. SSS a bird of prey is illegal without a permit, but this isn't about SSS or birds of prey.............. keep to the subject please.
