Bob has only gotten bent out of shape with me once. It was because I had one of his girls in one arm and a fresh water dispenser in the other hand...he didn’t know what that was , so he went “through” me to kill the water thing to protect his woman!
I understand what you’re saying as far as going “female only”, but I have fallen deeply in love with my babies, and love each one of their distinct personalities!! I was just hoping there was some kind of trick that I didn’t know about...I’ll keep on trying, if I can convince my son to! He’s only with me temporarily until his house is built. He’ll have to deal with it! Thanks for all your help!!!

Well.aart....I have to eat my words! I HAD to tell you!! Went out to let the kids out of their coop for the day, and Bob attacked ME!! Maybe not only can they sense fear, but also know when they are being talked about behind their back!! He’s psychic! Anyway, he scared the crap outta me! 2nd time in 14 months since he’s been with me that He’s ever raised a ...leg? Wing?...whatever..to me! Have to hang my head now...(but I AM laughing just a little!)

ETA: This reminds me a of dog I had. She was a mellow girl but the new mailman was scared to death of dogs, it ramped up her barking then growling at him...then she started doing that to other people, until one day the person came back at her telling her loudly with attitude to get hell away.....she never did it again.

By allowing Bob to be aggressive towards your son with no recompense, you actually set up a training program to encourage aggression towards humans, and guess what, you are next in line for the take-over! It may be too late to turn this around but you can try some "tough love". First, get over the idea that Bob is just a kind, loveable, dedicated bird trying to defend his "women" and keep them safe! He is a rooster and roosters live to dominate! He is not really capable of the feelings that you want to ascribe to him! He is young and seeking his place in the world and that means scratching and clawing his way to the top of the pecking order and he will go as far as he can get, and give up any ground gained only with a fight. So, if you want to keep him, learn to be dominant in the relationship! If you can't, then you will have get rid of him to someone that can, though it may already be too late. Once a rooster starts aggressing humans, re-homing them is just passing your problems on to someone else who may also be unable to change his behavior.

I’ll give it a shot and try to keep my profanity down to PG-13! (If that’s even possible!)

That was amazing! I’m going to try that for sure! The article makes reference to forgetting about the “lovey-dovey “ stuff...that is my biggest problem...they are my babies, and I treat them that way. Gotta knock that off, I see...(Deep breath...) Here I go...and thank you so much!!!!
