Can it be as simple as God just wanted to make them for our enjoyment? Because they look really pretty in the night sky and we could use them for directional purposes when needed?

Thank you for quoting the bible in a thread about aliens. Astronomy has found a different layout of the bodies in space than represented in Genesis, and information that contradicts the representation above. So perhaps it's best not to continue using biblical references to answer questions about what goes on in space.

The way I see it, the Bible doesn't specifically mention aliens by any means, but at the same time, I see nowhere that it precludes their existence. Personally, I think it would be awesome if there was life out there, though honestly, I'd rather it be non-sentient.

Yep. What else would the bacteria on mars be? It's a living thing outside of our earth, on another planet. Perhaps in millions of years mars will have plants growing. It's an odd thought though.

No, I do not believe that there is aliens. We have enough life here and still finding new ones each day here in our very large world that God has made for us to enjoy.

I recommend the mini series on Netflix called "Ancient Aliens". And that crazy Pharaoh Akhenaton (Amenhotep IV) (spelling?), was definitely a strange guy for his day.
