Do your chickens ever get really really mad at you?

Mine get very angry that I make their water turn solid in these cold temperatures.

Heck yeah, you just try to get between a Dominique hen and her chicks. She'll scratch your eyes out. Good garden o' peas!

Course she hasn't gone broody since.

How do you know when your chickens are mad at you? Do they stop talking to you?

Mine get mad at me all the time. If they don't get what they want they yell at me. They all have attitude. I just have to laugh at them. Between them and the goats they keep me laughing. For instance I went out this morning and go to open the door and the door is frozen. I pull it and rip the end of 2 nails off. I holler and go in the coop and the roo's start yelling at me. Like it is my fault. What did I do. Silly chickens. Gotta love them. Attitude. Love it:gig

I had to leave for work early yesterday, to get there before the snow started. I didn't have time to check on the chickens before I left.

When I got home around 4pm, and went in the coop, they met me at the door with their wings on their hips! I was hit in the head with a rotten tomato or two, and the language would make a sailor blush. (I think I saw my picture on a dart board at the back of the coop). Even the offering of freshly chopped red leaf lettuce did little to appease them. You'd think they'd been without food and water for a week! I guess it didn't help that the younger girls are all starting to lay this week and perhaps this new effort has them feeling out of sorts. I saw that poor Liberace, my silkie mix rooster, had a wound on his comb, so I know he'd been getting "hen pecked" too. So, on their orders, I ran back to the house and cooked up a batch of scrambled eggs for them and ran back to them with whole grain bread and eggs. After scarfing down the food offering and pecking me a few times, the riot was quelled.

Whatever you do, DON'T . . . FORGET . . . THE . . . OATMEAL.

When we opened the coop door yesterday and they saw 6 inches of snow, well! Such language! And then when the snow wasn't all gone this morning, they said it all, all over again. Then when I had the good sense to stay in the house for a while today, Casper the Lakenvelder roo sat on a windowsill and stared angrily inside at all of us.

holy smokes, what is it about the snow that they don't get!!

my chickens HATE it! they look at me and squabble, squawk, complain, etc!!

I have to shovel out a walk way for them in the enclosed outdoor run and they still
complain!

Explaining that I cannot up the heat, or bring on the grubs, they just don't get it!

A bunch of complainers I tell them every morning!

But i always thank them for the eggs they leave for me each and every day!

Thank you chickens..
