Dobermans are awesome dogs! I have had four total, so far! Between at the moment...sad face.

I'm in Colorado...anyone else?
Chicken Doberman story...
A couple of years ago, my Rhode Island Red hen pecked my Doberman, Dolly, in the butt. She was very submissive. She ran to my side whining.

The hen enjoyed the result so much, she did it to my Rat Terrier mix. He is not submissive. He turned around, laid his body across her body with his front legs out over her open wings, pinning her to the ground, putting her head directly in front of his. It happened at my feet so I yelled and moved towards him and he let her up. The hen hasn't pecked a dog butt since.

It was an interesting learning experience to see how a dog can easily put a chicken in a helpless position. I had thought the dog was at a disadvantage. Thankfully there wasn't even a ruffled feather.
