I think Maggie is the snuggliest dog we've ever had, and that's saying a lot, because we've had some real snuggle bugs.

She has some separation anxiety too. When I walk across the highway to get the mail, she stands at the gate and howls. We are working on training her not to go in or out an open door or gate without being invited.
(But I will never leave the gate open that goes to the highway)

All my female boxers were snugglers. Since she has already lost at least one other home, I'm sure that messes with her, and she will always fear losing her people afterwards. Boxers especially bond tightly with their people, and they are very emotional dogs.

We are at least her 3rd family, so she has had some trauma. She was a stray for a few months before being trapped. She is afraid of loud noises, brooms, and is very sensitive to tone of voice.
She sticks close to her pack now.

I'm glad you can give her a stable happy home. All dogs deserve that. 💜
