Oh boy…Next question! Why do you want/like dobies?
I like that they are a naturally protective breed. I feel like if you have a dog you might as well have that added benefit of helping to keep you safe. I like that they are tall and lanky, I don’t like short stout dogs. I wish dobies were a little bigger, but they are good enough. As much as I love the books of fluffy dogs, I do like the short less shedding coat of a Doberman. I love how they tend to be velcro dogs. That’s my favorite thing about Chase, he’s always by my side. I am not married nor do I have kids, I plan to keep it that way, so I really like the Velcro, one person dog aspect of the breed. I also want a dog that is reserved with strangers, and even though some Dobies are the exact opposite I feel like as a whole they check this box. And I feel like since Doberman’s were specifically bred to work with people there are more people oriented than Shepherd breeds. But I feel like I’ve also heard people say the opposite so that I’m not sure about. Probably stuff I’m forgetting but that sums it up!!
Now tell me, why do you like German Shepherd so much? If I didn’t get a Doberman, it would be a beauceron, a Rottweiler, or a German Shepherd.
