Does anyone else want to smash their waterers?

I have some of those rubber pans, but they still get stuck to the ground.

And the answer to the original question is yes, everyday it is below 32 degrees.

I have those five gallon waterers with the screw top lids from Little Giant and have been having a difficult time getting them open lately as they seem to "pressurize" or something. My husband gave me a nice metal stick to pry them open with instead of my poor wrists and flabby thighs........

funny- i was about to smash mine...took it inside to the kitchen sink to thaw the darn thing out, got the ice out of it, filled it back up and set it on the counter. Went to screw it back together and the entire thing slid out from underneath me and I had water all over the kitchen counter, and behind the darn stove.....needless to say, i really wanted to smash it. can't wait until spring

Only 1 of my 3 waterers are heated. I have been hauling the 2 frozen ones to the basement laundry sink.

DD doesn't like to do that, so she hauls out a 5 gallon bucket of warm water. Thank goodness we can take turns!

It is great having someone to share the load.

"Think Spring!"

I've given up on my plastic waterers for the winter. I have 2 plastic buckets that I fill with water each morning and put out for the birds. I tried them in the coop but they kept spilling them which made the coop nasty. I put the two plastic buckets out as well as a heated dog water bowl and they seem to do just fine. If I had to keep them in all the time I would use my plastic waterers and just bring them in at night. Good luck! I know it's a PAIN!

Jean, lets be real. I've seen your picture on your website, you don't have flabby thighs.
