Exactly. Plus, saying Καλαμάτα olives are the best sort of doesn't make sense. Because Καλαμάτα olives are good, but say Πύργος olives aren't? They're both in the Peloponnese

I don’t speak Greek, and I’m too lazy to use Google translate Here in the states they mainly sell green olives, black ones, and kalamata. Out of those three, kalamata are the best.

Καλαμάτα (Kalamata) is a city, so Καλαμάτα olives aren't a type of olive, just olives grown near Καλαμάτα. So basically, you just eat Greek olives because I doubt any other olive frown somewhere else in the Peloponnese tastes any different

I like many olives from Greece to southern California grown. I can seldom resist buying three or four varieties when I shop olives. Olive oils are essential to me in my kitchen. I have no known Mediterranean heritage. I just share a love for olives like many of the cultures from there. Olives grace many of my pizzas!
