to the people nay saying love from animals read the websters definition of the word. even if your animal is attached to you because of the food... it still falls under the definition. so the argument in the whole is moot. science says its possible and definition of word fits. "love" isn't some mysterious thing only humans feel

As far as iv'e noticed human kids only love you because you feed, comfort and keep them safe. That isn't a bad thing, it happens in a good amount of creatures. They develop deeper more complex feelings as their mentality allows them to do so. The chickens just stay in that first stage.

Iv'e been threatening them with a box of shake and bake for ages, they just give me the bird.

Last year I didn't get a single one on mother's day. The kids these days, they don't appreciate how their mother sacrifices for them...21 days slaving over an incubator but they don't care. They just want to do their scratch, to heck with old mom.

Reminds me of a cartoon my kids put up on the fridge. It's a cartoon of a man and a hen commiserating over a drink. He is speaking ... "Omelets, eh? Yeah, my kids are a disappointment, too." It still makes me chuckle!

Some roos prefer one female and will not mate with another.hens will raise another species as their young. People never bother to understand how they think. They are able to feel empathy for clucking sake. Sorry for me swearing. But come on.you can call me crazy. But they do feel love. They are able to feel complex emotions at the level a human does we are animals to it doesnt matter the size of the brain
