Dog attack

This NEVER happens. The chickens weren’t in her yard, she was let mistakenly out of the yard by a worker. Unfortunately his mistake caused my chicken to be injured. I don’t blame the dog, I blame the guy who went through a closed gate and didn’t think to close it behind him.

I’m not mad about the dog, it’s in her nature. That’s why I keep by birds out of the yard and her in the yard.

The chicken is still doing OK. I’ve looked her all over again and can’t find any death-causing injuries but she’s still in shock. I covered the wounds again in Vetericyn. I’ll grab some nutridench this afternoon and see how she feels about that.

I’ve managed to get her to drink a little. She’s in the bathtub with lots of soft towels and I’ve got her propped up so she’s not uncomfortable.
I got the whole story the first time. I was just suggesting that you might want to train the dog in case you cannot train people who need to get into your yard. I hate shock collars, but we only used ours for one day. Just sharing my story.

I’m not against shock collars, I used one on my labs to keep them close at our property. But... not my dog, not my call.

Well I finally got a sling built... sewing for a chicken, who’d have thought! Anyways... she’s eating great today, taking water. I’ve given her another bit of B12 vitamins and running to the feed store to get nutridrench or savachik, whichever and maybe both.

She’s moved both her legs but still won’t put weight on them. She’s really enjoying the attention,

Keep us posted sounds like she will be fine
She’s been eating great today.
I went ahead and found a vet in the area, taking her first thing tomorrow to have an exam. She’s pooped twice, there was just a teeny tiny bit of blood in this last one (now that I’m thinking about it though, the b12 vitamin I’m giving looks like blood, so maybe it wasn’t blood but the vitamin? )
I’m going to have them check the poops and maybe do an X-ray to see why her legs aren’t working.

I’ll let y’all know the result tomorrow. Thanks for all your help!
