Yes collars can hurt their trachea and their neck bones. Harnesses are much safer to use. If they are pullers, attach the leash in front on the harness instead of on the back, so if they pull hard, it turns them off course. Eventually they will quit pulling. My Toby liked to lunge full out forward out of nowhere, drove me nuts, hooking the leash in front cured this.Thanks! When on walks we like to use the harnesses, because they like to pull (They're not the best trained, but we love them) and then they start wheezing. (It might have something to do with their breed, I'm not entirely sure)
