Dog thread!🐾

Leo's are rare, people always ask me "what is that?!!" Landseer Newfies are not so rare but it's more common to meet all black. I LOVE Golden's too! Our Canadian Red's personality is beyond words, he's SO fun. 🥰

Who here has heard of Canis Panthers?
Not me!
Technically they are still a mixed breed, but according to this article they have established bloodlines now. They are a mix of Doberman, Staffordshire Terrier, black lab, and black Great Dane. I want one of them too! I basically want every big dog breed out there! 😆

they are cute!
Oof. Definitely not my cup of tea. At least they're doing something with the mix, unlike the doodle breeders:rolleyes:
I wonder what the purpose is for this mix is, they don’t look that different to cane coros or a Persa canrio
Don't get me started on doodles. I think all are not bred right and half the time they are puppy mills.
I have never seen a ethical doodle breeder 🙁
I actually know alot about alot of different dogs. I assisted with a disertation on breed characteristics. I have shown my whole life: Shelties, Canadian Red Golden, Newfoundlands, Leonbergers and my daughter has a Corgi. My soul dog is the Leonberger, no other dog for me. It's go big or go home around my farm, lol.

@SpotTheCat i have actually seen one ethical Goldendoodle breeder. They were breeding to both the GR and Poodle breed standards, plus doing all health testing and AKC registering the puppies. Plus doing a bunch of other stuff before the puppies go home. Although i cant remember the kennel name. But other than that most are unethical and they are just in it for the money.

Actually, there’s several doing health testing now (often more than purebreds do) and they even have a breed club and breed standard they’re aiming for now. Same with Australian Labradoodles. The Australian Labradoodles have actually been doing multigenerational doodle to doodle crosses for a while now and breeding fairly true. So they’re almost a breed. They just want nothing to do with the AKC or else they would probably be one by now. But they have a breed club and a breed standard and health testing requirements. And let’s not forget many purebred breeders are extremely unethical too. It’s not only doodles. There’s good and bad in both. I will say though that goldendoodles and Australian labradoodles are the ONLY doodles I would ever consider getting. All the other weird and random crosses are quite unethical and unpredictable. But those two breed fairly true now and a lot of them health test now.

A better word for that breeder would be responsible. Unless said breeder proves their doodles in some sport, they're responsible, not ethical

Ive never heard of Australisn Labradoodles! Yes many purebred breeders are unethical to. Thats why ive learned how to read Pedigrees and Genetics papers of dogs to really know what im getting. Im not to sure on the curlyness of the fur though.

A relative actually found a doodle on the side of the road, took him in. nobody claimed him and unfortunately he passed a few years ago. But she said, that he was a good dog. She is also a vet and she knew he was from a amish breeder but he was still ok after he got over the worms. Ticks and whatever else he had on him
