I guess it could be a problem for certain lifestyles, but that's one thing I love about Bostons - they want to be with me. I was actually disappointed when I first got Dorie because she was kind of aloof and didn't want to sit on my lap or be petted. It took years but she has since changed and does like to get up on my lap every once in a while now.

I want dogs that like to be with me too, but I do need to leave the house. The dog needs to be able to sleep while I'm gone, and not have a panick attack, or try something naughty due to its energy requirements

I still think Bostons are a good fit. Brew would crawl into my skin if he could when I’m home but he’s fine when I leave.

I think with the right training and exercise, Bostons can be calm when left alone. Neither of my Bostons have done anything destructive while I was gone.

None of my dogs ever have smelled unless they are wet or super dirty but I bath willow every 2 weeks usually

Same, double coated dogs get so dirty. So quickly.
