Dog thread!🐾

Also check her food as sometimes chemicals in readymade dogfood such as kibble or cans can cause nervousness, hyperactivity and other often allergic reactions.
Feeding raw and fresh food often helps.
They all are on raw
You make me curious, try to explain, please.
When she rans around she doesn’t really have a goal except running and jumping. She will run one way then suddenly run another, Fanta would have a goal, run other here, or run to this toy

its not really frantic but thats how it feels. Fanta’s running felt more controlled while Fennels doesn’t

I find it overstimulating a lot of the time. Fanta seems to prefer tugging and interacting with me which helps me, while Fennel prefers running around like mad carrying things and jumping, its cute but doesn’t help me instead makes it worse if I am all ready overstimulated

You could try to engage her in some games to ecourage her mental development as well as obedience.

For instance have her sit in one spot in the garden while you walk away hiding her favourite toy or food. Only after you come back and tell her to "go find it" will she be allowed to move from the spot you left her waiting and start her search.

This is how I was able to teach my two rambunctious intact Airedales to calm down despite their wild nature and the previous agitation (they looove this game!) and wait for the correct command.

If she not only finds it but brings it back to you immediately, give her lots of praise and exchange the object for a treat. Repeat no more than three consecutive times as she is very young still.

Be calm and don't allow her any deviation from your rules or she will learn to make them up herself and bend them every which way she sees opportune.

Springer Spaniels are very clever and have a strong will to please, so make good use of those traits and keep her mind busy as well and she will be devoted to you.

A lot of that just sounds like normal puppy exuberance and goofiness. Brewster used to be a bit like that. It should calm down. He’s 2 1/2 now and A LOT better.
It seems to be her personality to me, it is really hard to explain exactly what I mean. I can see a bit of it in all the spaniels I have seen, I didn’t realise how much it would annoy me. it probably will get a bit better once she is older

I think it might be just in the way the spaniels move

Aw that stinks then.

Well she is still cute and I am looking forward to doing agility with her. The family seem to like her

I just now know I probably don’t want to get a spaniel again, maybe I will change my mind once she is older
Oh that’s good! Personally I love spaniels although I’ve never really met one so idk
