Awesome! I love beagles. Definitely big howlers though LOL

I typically have 3 or four around. Plus a couple "yard" dogs or pets. I've had as many as 7 before but it's too much of hassle anymore.

So Denvers whole litter wasnt socialized properly. So once she came home it took a lot to socialize her. She was fine with people, but didnt like other dogs and loud noises. Since bringing Tucker home she has so much more energy to play with other dogs and i love it!
Denver did pick us. We sat down on the floor, but she didnt immediately come to us. She was shy and scared, slowly she came to me and i knew she was the one. On the second meeting she was so excited to see us it was crazy at that point she was attached! She was the only puppy there that would just sit when asked she knew her name before we brought her home and learned tricks so quickly.

Winnie didn't have proper early puppy socializing. Her breeder is definitely one of the few good breeder for the breed, but there's only so much socializing a single elderly person can do when owning quite a few dogs.
When she first got home she was a statue, too terrified to move...
She still not a perfect dog, but now at home she's a little crazy thing that never stops moving. Took me quite a few days (if not weeks) just to get her comfortable to walk in and out the door of her crate. We worked on "strangers" the other day, and she did end up (stretching) taking treats from some visiting family members.

Well, as an update to the saluki situation, the dog is said to have found an adopter. The adopter is not someone the breed community knows, and most likely is not someone experienced with such a primitive breed. 4 sighthound and saluki people were willing to adopt the dog, the shelter refused

Majority of people don't know how to properly use a stim collar, so it's much better if they don't.
We learned the proper way to use them when our last red tri, Copper, became deaf.
Without it, he would not have been able to enjoy the same freedom that he had experienced during the younger years of his life.

We go to classes and learn how to use it. I barely use it. Its kinds like a back up just in case something is to go wrong.

Glad we do, along with the wolves, Bison, Elk, etc, etc!

We have deer, coyote, racoons, hawks, bobcats. A good family friend who recently passed. Said she saw wolves, and mountain lions in the valley behind their house. Which they definitely should be. She actually had a picture of the wolf it was kinda scary knowing that all of their livestock could be took. Snd they live 15 minutes from me.
