Dog thread!🐾

There is a place about 30 minutes from me like 5 years ago we were at their farm stand they were amish. Now this isnt the same for all amish.
So well we were there they asked us if we would like to see puppies. Of course we went back. All of their adult goldens were out together free roaming. That wasnt the issue i mean besides how do you really know who the father is if a female went into heat.
They had kennels lined up inside their barn that you could hear barking from. We only got to see 2 of the pups one who had a lazy eye and hip dysplasia. They only said that they sold him to somebody for $100 after they found he had a lazy eye. But i could clearly see the hip dysplasia.
Now the even bigger issue is they say on their website that some dogs are AKC, CKC or have no registration. And they changed their name 3 times and sell under 2 different names.

This is why i like to go to the breeders place and see everything. Because if i see places like this i turn them down. Now most amish are this way but there could be a good amish breeder out there in all the bad ones.

Tucker is going through this stage where he wont leave me for a minute. Unless i shut a door and he is in another room or he is crated.
He is constantly trying to give me paw and i constantly have to pet him. If i get up he gets up. He only does this to me. But i dont think its seperation anxiety. Because it just started up out of nowhere and he doesnt scream when i leave the room like he use to.

Then with this. He slipped out of his collar yesterday and took off luckily he didnt leave our yard but he wouldnt listen to me to come back.
Along with not listening unless i have a treat.
I dont know whats going on.
And we missed the sign up for his second obedience class we were going to enroll him in.

This is why I don't train with treats. I offer praise for good behaviour and for doing as asked. A stern reprimand is given for bad behaviour along with time-out, and if Taiyo tries to get attention at a time when I'm not receptive, I ignore him.

I dont always give him treats. He just listens better when i have them. And right now he will only listen if i have treats.
He knows when i am angry or he did something he shouldnt have as he goes to his kennel whij i didnt train him to do.

This is why I like martingales! Escape proof. That is weird 🤔 how old is he again? Could be a adolescent phase? Can’t be being in season this time🤣

I haven’t had issues with not listening with out treats, if they don’t listen with out treats then normally they either haven’t learnt the commands well enough or there is a too difficult distraction

He is 9 almost 10 months. Definitely at the adolescent stage.
He knows all the commands i have taught him just chooses not to listen.

Normally anyone who sells at a market isn’t a good breeder 🙁

I think of it differently to them choosing not to listen, its helped a lot with making progress in training, when I look for a reason and don’t accept they are just plain choosing not to listen. There is always a reason why!

adolescents sometimes means you need to take steps backwards in their training!
