Not at all, they seem to be very tolerant of it. Mine literally needs to be held down, and even then it's hard to do. All his teeth are fine, except for the very last molar on both sides of the upper jaw

What toothpaste do you use? I use the nylabone brand. They like the taste, so that probably helps a bit.

Oof. I've tried a bunch. Some of the most memorable ones have been a vanilla flavour one that was vet recommended, a peanut butter one that worked the first time, but not any other time after that, and a chicken one. Haven't tried a nylabone so far
