Yeah, I was always very strict with it, but I feel like it is a loosing battle and honestly, I am kind of feeling like it isn’t fair. He is just telling the cat to keep away from his stuff. Part of me feels like that is a valid thing for him. But I don’t know, just wondered what y’all thought.

I think it's okay if he growls at the cat. As long as he isn't going after the cat I personally wouldn't worry about it. He's treating the cat like it's part of his pack and telling the cat this ice is mine, get your own.

Willows been pretty good with me but she definitely resource guards to Oakley and the cats, I try not to tolerate it because it could cause a fight. Obviously she doesn't have to just let Oakley take her stuff though

Yeah, that makes sense. If I had two dogs anything of value would always be put up unless I was supervising. Even if they got along great.

That makes me feel better. He has never gone any further than growling (not that I would trust him not to).

Yeah we do that with edible bones and treats but we always leave toys and some chews around. Thankfully willow isn't too crazy for toys these days anyway but in the instance she decides she wants one I'll allow her to growl at him but no lunging or snapping is allowed

Luckily Tucker has only resource guarded once and Denver once. High value chews/toys(bully sticks, lick mats, puzzle toys), and food are fed seperated in case of anything. But i can leave bones around and toys without a issue. They did just get new water buffalo horns so they are seperated until they chill a bjt
