Dog with Diahrrea, some puking. (Back from Vet)

Pancreatitis most definately. My dog ate something last year and she got it. Normally she doesn't get any human food so that just set it right off. We had to take her to the vet and get a couple meds and she was fine in a couple days.

I'm checking for local vets right now. I prefer large animal vets, so I'm checking those first. They deal with large and small animals and don't tend to be as overly priced as the small animal only vets.

She hasn't gotten any better and the poo has changed from brown to a dark green/brown.

Well, she has an appt. for 3:15 with a new vet. I hate that they're gonna have to do bloodwork on her, but, I suppose it's for the best. The minimum I will have to pay is $85 so far. If they're more worried, it will mean X-rays and that's another $85. Still much cheaper than any of the others, but gonna hurt nonetheless. She's worth it though...if I were to lose her...idk what I would do.

If they have to take an X-ray, if she has pancreatitis, they will be a large bolus of gas in her right midsection.

A long time ago I had a dog with pancreatitis and couldn't convince this vet that she had it. I knew what she had, but AmStaffs are very stoic around vets and won't cry out when a vet palpates. I had to actually argue with them to take an X-ray - and there was the gas bolus. oooooo I was hot. Got my meds and left and never went back. Dog was fine after a couple of days of meds.

It really irks me when a vet talks to you like you're an idiot or don't know your dog. I had one dog that tore her ACL, (another dog jumped on her leg from the side) and I could hear the vet on the other side of the door ask if my dogs were FAT..... my vet looked mortified when they came in the room, maybe it was the dirty look on my face. She knows me and my dogs very well.

Hopefully your dog is ok RP and it's nothing serious.

Unspiced canned pumpkin is a wonder drug. My dog would get diarrhea or vomiting and I would put down one can in his bowl. If he needed it, he would eat it. Diarrhea and vomiting would stop immediately. If he didn't need it, he would ignore it (which wasn't often). This worked if it was something he ate. When he got older and his troubles were caused by old age/illness, he would simply ignore it. Try it. It's cheap and you will know right away if it will help.

Well...ya'll are gonna laugh.

She had a bacterial infection that would not have cleared up on it's own had I not taken her in..who knows what would have happened. So, she had the bacterial infection, that we're assuming came from the dog park (not going back...) AND...

drum roll please

She's allergic to poultry.

ETA: So, today, she's had a shot of antibiotics, has a prescription for 2 antibiotic pills 2x per day for 7 days and has been prescribed to take 3cc of liquid Immodium-AD twice per day.

I'm glad you found out what is wrong with her and she is on the road to recovery!

Poultry allergies are very common in dogs as well as grain allergies. They are easy to treat with a quality dog food.
