Ydogsfly -- Any book you can find by author Mark A. Fields (on Dominiques) might be an interesting read. He is the gentleman Cackle Hatchery consulted with to improve their standard and bantam Dominique breeding stock.
First two images of a F1 (American Domnique x Crele American Game). Female siblings except having a tighter and brighter spot. The game is not of my stock so not much known about its genotype.
F1's of same direction involving my stock of American Games would have chicks having black but no brown. Females would have no white on head while males would be indistinguishable from American Dominiques based on down coloration.
F6 (American Dominique x American Game) lacking Barring allele. Most likely a female based on phenotype of parents. Note no black.
F6 of same with likely 1 copy of Barring allele. Could be either sex. Notice no black. About 1/4 four from this cross should lack Extended Black Allele.
Another F6 by another mother that is heterozygous for Extended Black. I think has two copies of Barring allele so male.
Had to post some Dominique cuteness! 21/2weeks old. Curious friendly talkative little chirpers! I don't think they are all the same hatch since I have one big one, one medium, and one tiny size -- Privett Hatchery birds special ordered thru my local feed store:

They're very cute chicks. But, it looks like they're trying to learn how to use your computer. Are they reading your posts on BYC or maybe trying to figure out how to order some mealworms? Be careful, once they know about Amazon, you'll be in big trouble.
