Dominique Thread!

DD and Bubbles are so great together! TY DD for taking the time and patience for your 4H project! Bubbles really picked up on depressing the key until it made a sound! At the Fair years and years ago there was a White Leghorn that would hit the lighted keys on a piano and each time she did a treat rolled out over the piano key. She played some nifty little tunes to get those treats but Bubbles does it without having to get a treat every single time!

Off to process.

Poor sweet unsuspecting souls! God bless the little dinosaurs for providing meat for the table. At least they have a nice comfortable well-ventilated send-off and not crammed in scary market poultry cages! At least they won't be abused held by their feet and swung over someone's head several times before the frightened birds have their throat cut like the ethnic sects do on the NY streets -- which NY has been trying to stop for years because of the abused and dying chickens -- but some religious traditions continue for generations with no sense and no stopping the disregard for health laws!

I always thank God for our deceased birds as well as pray for our live flock. I hope your processing is so quick they don't suffer! DH won't eat any of our birds so he either finds them a rescue farm or else they are in our forever home! Nature seems to take chickens home much faster than we'd like so processing them is out of the question -- and ours are pets anyway. I have one old 71/2 yr old Silkie that stopped laying eggs a couple years ago but she's still useful to forage for bugs, teach the younger hens, provides garden fertilizer, and gives us entertainment laughs! On the farm the folks processed livestock but in our little suburban backyard we have too few birds allowed to have for anything but eggs and pets.
