This bobcat decided he couldn't pass up coming into my chicken coop a little after dark. I typically have it locked within a half hour of dusk. But that night I got home late. When i went to lock up I found a pile of feathers and some blood. I looked around with a flashlight but couldn't find anything.
I thought to myself, i bet whatever it is will come back tomorrow. So i sat on the top of my coop for the last 30 minutes of light and sure enough. The enticing flavor of chicken cost this cat his life.

My neighbor had actually seen this bobcat less than a year ago. It got a duck and chicken of his. So i was prepared knowing it was probably the same predator.

And now he will be mounted on my wall.

I just had my .22. The taxidermist said that i hit him right about at the ear. He said his skull was destroyed and in peices. He stopped at about 35 yards and gave me a standing shot so it wasnt all that hard of a shot.

Nice...what ammo?

I'm currently restoring a 1956 Remington 514 that was a gift from a personal friend just prior to his passing.

Learning a lot about gunsmithing in the process, and acquired a bit of subsonic CCI ammo to re break in the gun.

I have several other models to restore, started with the simplest and least expensive.

Really enjoying it.

It was just a CCI hollow point round that I had on hand. I like to shoot the hollow points so they don't go through the animal and kill someone a half mile over.
