The thing I have to keep repeating myself about with the chickens is my toes aren't worms but they don't listen.

Hope you don't do that DIRECTLY after they've eaten a mouse, or scratched around in the compost!

Years ago, we lived at a house with a huge, wonderful Fig Tree. I always had to make sure the chickens wings were clipped before the figs started to ripen. Otherwise I'd find that they flew over the fence & were in the fig tree, going to town! Did you know chickens LOVE figs?

Too bad fig trees don't do well by me ... ours must be content with mulberries!

Mulberries. Just coming into fruit right now. I don't mind a bit that they eat the fallen ones ... but they will GORGE on them for days and poop blue for a week

They are vicious lil predators, no? Pulled out the lawnmower on spring for the first mow ... checked the oil, gassed it up, after a couple of pulls to start it, a mouse who had taken up residence ran out and into the run. I said 'hey mouse, that's a bad plan!' but I don't think it even had time to hear me finish the sentence!

He should have stayed in the mower, it would have been safer!

Mine go crazy over the paint spots on my work boot (don't worry, it's all latex paint).

Neighbors baby ferret they ganged it and ate it.I found a collar some fur and a bunch of fat chickens sunbathing in suspicious proximity to the crime.
