I don't know about you but to me raw beef and cooked taste TOTALLY different. (I am not going to try raw chicken

Also, look at the number of people out there who feed cooked meat and have not had any problems. In fact I can't honestly recall ever seeing a book say that feeding cooked meat *could* promote cannibalism (there is probably some book somewhere, but I don't believe it's a very ubiquitous sentiment). (Books sometimes warn against excess protein for other reasons)
If you (I mean, not you specifically, but anyone in general) are keeping your chickens in highly stressful conditions, overcrowded and bored and so forth, then maybe you might want to be super cautious about the meat thing... but it seems to me the major solution would lie in correcting the OTHER problems that are quite well documented to promote cannibalism.
So I dunno. Armchair theorizing about how chickens think or what they might do is 'fun', but I think that looking around you at what people do, and what happens from it, has to kind of take precedence. And while I'll agree there are some
theoretical grounds for avoiding poultry meat, or meat in general (even tho chickens do naturally eat some meat when they can), I really dunno how compelling the argument necessairly is.
