Thank you for your quick reply. I am new to this forum but I see your name pop up all the time when I am researching questions I have. Glad to see you are still on the air!
Do you know what the withdrawal period is on Corid for laying hens?
Thanks again,
Jennie
I know this post is from a long time ago. Hoping you're still out there. Is sulfadimethoxine the same as SMZ? I had my chicks on that for 10 days. I shouldn't have to treat with Corid now, right? It should have cleared everything up.

What is the exact name of the product you have been giving?
And another question is if I can give them CORID and SMZ at the same time? My vet said that SMZ is not strong enough to really kill it, but they should continue taking it for the respiratory stuff. She said there is a feed that treats(not prevents but treats) cocci. I can't figure out what it is.

Yes, you can give both. Call and ask for names of stuff she talking about.

Yes, your right. That is what it is. Do you know of the feed she is talking about or would you recommend just using the CORID and SMZ together? If I do that I'll be using a 32 oz. waterer because that's how the antibiotic is dosed and has to be fresh daily. Would I just add 1/2 tsp Corid to that? Thank you for the help!

If I were going to use the two together, that's what I would do. Did she say what medication was in the feed?

No, she just said there was a feed that was laced with a treatment. I thought I would be able to figure it out. All of the typical starter medicated seem to be more preventatives.

Most feed stores carry amprolium laced feeds, but there are others. I think some have Monensin, and some Lasolocid? But don't quote me on that.
